These books were originally just meant to fill a few gaps here and there in the main series, but they ended up full-length novels instead, and a whole "thing" in their own right. They deepen a number of character arcs and answer questions about their pasts (or give insight into events only covered in passing), so if you're a fan of the series, I would definitely check them out!
